Welcome to the Greensforge Sailing Club Website
Greensforge is 50 this year!
Welcome to the Greensforge Sailing Club website, we hope you enjoy exploring it to find out about our Club and then decide to pay us a visit one Sunday; we guarantee you’ll be made to feel very welcome.
Greensforge is a friendly club situated close to Jn 12 of the M6 in peaceful surroundings.
At Greensforge we like to encourage all our members be they beginners or keen racers.
Sailing doen't have to be an expensive pastime. The club owns a laser, enterprise and topper for members to use and we have bouyancy aids for adults and children that club members can borrow. Should you want your own boat, then second hand ones are less expensive than you might think.
What about racing? Although you do not have to race to enjoy the freedom of sailing, those who do race find it very rewarding. Racing has been compared to chess on water. The rules can be quite complex. However you only need to know a few basic rules in order to join in. At Greensforge you will find the experienced racing members will be very helpful and will encourage all new recruits to join in. You should be warned that it can become quite addictive and extremely rewarding.
Our clubhouse has recently undergone some refurbishment - the electrics have been completely re done and the club house is now cosy with new fan heaters in the changing rooms and in the comfortable seating areas.
